The School of Wildlife Forensic and Health, Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur is organising the International Zoo and Wildlife Health conference on “Balancing Human Needs and Wildlife Conservation through Integrated Health Management” in association with the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, and the Wildlife Institute of India from 24th to 26th April 2025.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

A balanced approach to development and wildlife conservation is essential for maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Conservation medicine integrates veterinary science, ecology, public health, and conservation biology to address the interconnected health of humans, animals, and the environment. This field, led by veterinarians, addresses emerging diseases, habitat degradation, and human-wildlife conflicts while focusing on sustainable land use, wildlife coexistence, and disease monitoring. Policy reforms and collaborative efforts at local, national, and international levels have yielded significant successes. Community-driven initiatives and transboundary disease control measures have improved ecosystem health and public wellbeing. Real-world examples further demonstrate the importance of well-crafted policies and strong partnerships in fostering biodiversity and ensuring sustainability.
This International Conference will bring together veterinarians, conservationists, policymakers, academics, and community leaders to discuss Integrated Health Management solutions. SWFH (NDVSU) invites you to Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, to contribute your expertise and engage in discussions aimed at practical outcomes.
